The North Coast Rape Crisis Team (NCRCT) has served survivors of sexualized violence for the past 43 years in Humboldt County. We provide 24-hour in-person response to advocate for survivors in their darkest moments. In 2024 alone, we served over 900 survivors. Sexual abuse and assault are endemic in our culture; if you are not a survivor yourself, you probably know someone who has been affected.  

We are a community who comes together in times of crisis, and NCRCT is experiencing a funding crisis unlike any we have experienced before.  NCRCT is facing a 44.7% cut to our funding for the next 3-5 years. This is a loss of $380,000.00 each year. 95% of these funds pay for sexual assault counselor positions and direct financial assistance to survivors for rental assistance, food, and gas vouchers as they navigate their healing journey. The Board of Directors and Amanda LeBlanc, our Executive Director, are working daily to create a plan to maintain services for survivors and their families.

To build awareness, and raise the funds needed to keep our doors open, we are beyond excited to announce that we will be hosting our 1st annual Dancing in the Rain Gala in April 2025. Our theme reflects the resilience of survivors and an understanding that the rainy day for which to save has arrived.
