The North Coast Rape Crisis Team is always seeking new dynamic people to increase the size and diversity of our Board of Directors.
Established in 1981 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, NCRCT provides 24-hour direct services to survivors of sexualized violence, intimate partner violence, sex trafficking and child abuse in Humboldt and Del Norte counties. In addition to the 24-hour hotline, the staff provide counseling, support groups, advocacy, and accompaniment for law enforcement interviews, sexual assault examinations and to court. NCRCT also provides information, referrals and educational prevention programs for children, teens and adults, as well as trainings for various professional groups and at community awareness events.
We are looking for people in the Humboldt and Del Norte communities with experience and interest in the following topics and willing to serve a 3-year term on the Board:
- Non-profit governance
- Financial management
- Fundraising
- Succession planning
- Law
Prospective candidates are asked to fill out the application and are encouraged to include any information about yourself describing your skills, experiences and passions that you would bring to our Board. Applications will be accepted on-going without specific deadline until further notice. Our Board size is designated as between 5 and 13 members, with our current membership being 6. We meet monthly at 5:00pm every third Thursday, with subcommittees meeting as needed usually immediately following the monthly meeting.
