The International Labor Organization estimates that there are 20.9 million victims of human trafficking globally. 68% of them are trapped in forced labor. 26% of them are children. 55% are women and girls. Sex trafficking is when a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud or coercion OR when the person induced to perform the act is under 18 years old. A commercial sex act means any item of value is traded for any sexual service (prostitution, pornography, or sexual performance). At the North Coast Rape Crisis Team we know that sex trafficking is something that does happen in our community. We believe that people who are currently in a situation where they are, or may be, trafficked or survivors of trafficking deserve support and services. In addition to the services we offer the community, please feel free to explore the links below to see if there may be other organizations that may also be helpful.
